my absolute fav board for under 3ft.. flat, super fat, glass on (semi) flex and

nice vee out the last third...6'6" handshape by Graham at Crescent Head...

got this board for a steal at $240 basically brand new- catches waves like

an 8foot plank, turns like a 6ft fish and trims soo nice off the front foot...

a positive, fun board to ride, I've had this thing under my feet a lot lately...cant

beat it in 2ft, offshore runners

we are extending a 100yr old farm house 15 mins away in the hills....the old shack will 

soon have 1 bedroom,  a large studio, bathroom, laundry and a big deck overlooking the valley...

ALL materials are recycled/reclaimed and its good to be doing things the old way, using

hardwood throughout, hand cutting frames, building custom windows, re glazing

old doors etc..it has brought things back to a craft, and going to work is inspiring..

the finished product will look great, and i appreciate the owners vision and commitment

to do the old structure justice.

posts have been a little thin lately...the reason is my brother and i have gone into 

business for ourselves...the scope is general building, particularly decks, pergolas and

extensions- we are focusing on environmentally responsible materials.

i am just about to build a large shed in the backyard at North Haven...we will also

be building custom/one off pieces of recycled furniture and in the nearish future once

the business settles and my wife gives birth...ill hopefully get time to shape a couple of

tube shooters....actually, to let you in on it all,.. i am going to learn to weld once i have

the shed. the dream is to build furniture, surfboards, and garden art at home under the 

label peaceloveanarchy designs and build part time/ surf part time..haha sounds

good hey? future works will definitely be posted here on the blog so stay tuned..

in the meantime...i started a blog for our building company...we got super creative

with the business name haha...check it out if you got the time?..

a few from a nice autumn morning a while back..

my mate who's in Sierra Leone, (and just got back from Iraq and South Sudan working for MSF-some crazy places he's been!)  sent me this pic the other day- haha old days in the shed of the

tree house at Floraville. my uncle build this amazing house, had a big beautiful loft main bedroom with a deck off the side overlooking redhead down to the channel and moon island...he also had a killer shaping bay under the house- was super dark in there with great lighting, board talk and beers in there most arvos.....

this pic is circa '07, we were shaping some dodgy boards, (but loving them) playing music in the garage most nights and red wine and bags of weed were abundant. we had not a care in the world...the 8 piece drum kit in the shed saw the police knocking on the door regularly and the once a month ecstasy parties started thursday and ended sunday, such a great party scene then..,and party house...the place would be overflowing but was nothin but good vibes and free love...great times, great friends, fond memories..

WSL, more like American Capitalist Fucking Shit!

So, here it is....my opinion....when i started this blog my opinions were flowing.. -they still are, and probably always will. having said that i thought there would be a lot more intelligent posts full of interesting literature and/or rants about what i thought about the surfing world..that didn't happen, it has been more of a photo log and sparse at that...the truth is, to us part time surfers/full time workers, we try to get as much water time but life gets in the way...so we resort to cheesy internet clips about the true soul of surfing and cool dudes who ride anything, but also work for a corporate company and effectively are whores for said company...anyways the blog ended up more of a photo journal and i haven't spat any real opinions as yet....

i watched the Quiksilver Gold Coast Pro today.. it presented the same as last year and the few before that...Martin Fucking "know it all" Potter giving his best South African accent opinion about how everyone should surf a heat and be completely awesome....Joe "the most annoying man alive" Tripodi being the coolest Cali surfer guy ever, agreeing with Potts and a whole host of Clowns, not to mention the gorgeous Rosie Hodge and more advertising breaks than actual surfing..

The ASL got bought out last year..i think?, or maybe the year before?... anyways it got privatised, and quickly things changed...the logo first...now the name...WSL or World Surf League!..this year is the debut of the uber American, total Capitalist piece of shit, that is now the pinnacle of surfing...
Could you make surfing any more SENSATIONAL?...the answer is NO!..it's like the true life and heart has been ripped out and made way for post heat interviews with bimbo's who know nothing about surfing and a whole circus of corporate whores, advertising, and players who are more concerned with $$ than the actual sport...but why should i care?...every sport has been taken in that direction years ago and is all about the betting and TV rights, right? it's time surfing got the exposure and the professionals get the prize money they deserve...??

What i think is that  its nothing more than another piece of shit that has been taken over by Global Greed, probably apart of the illuminati!? haha yeh i said that...fuck it i'm out- good luck to Parko, and like Noa Deane said at the Surfer Poll awards in Hawaii late last year "Fuck The WSL!"
